Semiotic Enterprise Design for IT Applications

 

EPSRC Project: Grant Reference GR/S04840/01

The SEDITA project aims to develop an organisational modelling method  based on the concepts of organisational semiotics to capture the kernel of a business's information requirements (the relevant organisational knowledge, concepts, terminology, meanings, responsibilities and priorities) with formality and precision to deduced IT requirements.

The SEDITA (Semiotic Enterprise Design for IT Applications) is funded by the United Kingdom Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) grants and jointly conducted by The University of Reading and Staffordshire University .

The joint-project started on the 1 st of April 2002 and completed on 30th June 2005

The MEASUR "Methods for Eliciting Analysing and Specifying Users Requirements" method have been used successfully in the industry on real case studies with mainstream users, applied to business problems for analysis and validation of large complex projects and providing supporting tool to aid the users.

The Industrial Partners of this project includes: Winning Moves Ltd Lindale Associates Ltd, Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd (Britvic), Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO), Joseph Goguen, and Peter Duschinsky.
